Meet the Team at Face Facts II Bakewell
My name is Liz and I have been in the beauty industry for 30 years. I trained at High Peak College in Buxton and Lillian Maund in Stockport. My first beauty position was in Manchester gaining experience in all aspects of beauty and tanning. A few months later I was given the opportunity to manage the salon and after a while it gave me a hunger to manage my own. In 1985 this became reality with the help of the 2 year goverment enterprise allowance scheme and a small amount of post office savings my parents had saved for me.
Face Facts gradually built up with a lot of patience, free reception and decorating help from my parents, professionalism and a warm and friendly atmosphere and supportive clients. Gradually as more advanced beauty treatments became available the salon built up to an extremely busy salon and now has 8 members of staff. In 2007 we expanded into Bakewell and have a lovely small friendly salon which continues to offer our expertise and knowledge of treatments. In June 2010 I decided to sell Face Facts in Buxton after 25 years. I still keep my hand in with beauty treatments in Bakewell and I also am a freelance Semi Permanent Make Up artist in which I have specialised in for 15 years which is amazing for enhancing eyes brows and lips. I am passionate about my work and the results I can achieve for everybody.
I trained as a beauty therapist in 1997 and since enjoyed working and gaining experience by expanding my knowledge in new treatments for the past 12 years. I also gained experience as a beauty representative for a skincare and equipment company but realised I missed the personal client beauty treatments and applied for a position at Face Facts in Buxton 7 years ago.
I expanded my knowledge of skincare and specialised treatment knowledge by attending various courses and 2 years later in 2007 I was offered the position of manager in our new salon Face Facts II in Bakewell. 5 years later we have a lovely ,friendly salon that we offer a wide range of treatments. In July 2010 I became a partner in the business.
I am passionate about my work and only want the best for my clients. I pride myself in being a specialist in Priori and Guinot skincare.
I finished my beauty training in 1997 at High Peak College in Buxton before going on to work for a leisure company all over the UK, perfecting massage and relaxation treatments for ladies weekends. Along side that I worked full time at the Nail Studio, where I had extensive training in nails, nail art and extensions which I enjoyed very much and still do. Then I came to work at Face Facts (Buxton) where my use and knowledge of other treatments was put to the test. I found I enjoyed having a varied schedule and had ongoing training in lots of new specialist areas. My favourites,
I trained as a Body Piercer in 1999, in Intense Pulse Light (IPL) teatments in 2000 and have been fascinated by skin and its care since been introduced to MD Formulation’s skincare (now Priori) and Guinot. The results on peoples skin and the difference I could make inspired me to enter the salon of excellence awards. My portfolio, built over 12 months won me The Therapist of the Year award and runner up in the Best Before and After. Winning 2 awards out of 6 in a National competition felt amazing and for just doing my job! In 2006 came the biggest compliment of all, thanks to Liz as I became a partner in Face Facts Buxton, then opened Face Facts II in Bakewell and now I have sole responsibility at Buxton. I feel very passionate about my job and my treatments and feel very privileged for being a part of Face Facts and i look forward to meeting you in the future.
Hi I am Chloe and I qualified as a beauty therapist 5 years ago. I have worked as part of the Face Facts II team in Bakewell for the last 2 years. I offer various treatments but I enjoy offering the most up to date nail treatments available such as Shellac, Minx and Calgel and my clients leave with their nails transformed.
I look forward to meeting you and giving you fabulous nails with maybe just a little bit of sparkle.
